The purpose of the Mollusk Survey is to detect new infestations of targeted mollusk pest species at low population levels. These economically important mollusk species have been combined into one survey because they have similar biology, cause comparable types of damage, and are surveyed for using the same techniques and methodology. The Mollusk Survey Reference provides standardized guidelines for conducting a Mollusk detection survey in the United States and its territories.
